The Power of Naming: Finding Language Liberation in Menstruality

From the Authors & Contributors:
Language shapes the beliefs and attitudes around our experiences. It affects how people who menstruate — and those who do not — feel about and understand periods.

This is why Madami and PERIOD. took on the challenge of curating and centralizing a holistic document that celebrates the diversity of terms used to describe menstrual experiences, as well as the many strands of education, activism, and advocacy within the menstrual movement.

From me:
Here’s your chance to explore all the words related to the menstrual cycle. No excuse not to understand what’s happening in your body — and to have the language to communicate it. This is agency. This is learning about your cycle. This is the beginning of your cycle literacy journey.
